On a Journey, any Journey, & any Destination, We are to believe that the destination is where all the enjoyment will be & get there as fast as possible.
I Disagree…
It's the discounting of the Journey, basically by using That Super-Slab of Concrete called The Interstate Highway System, by using this, we are missing over half the Adventure. Get off That Super-Slab of Concrete and onto the Original US Highway System. That includes but is not just limited to these below:
Historic Trails such As Lewis and Clark, Trail of Tears, Oregon National, Pony Express & Scenic Byways, such as The Blues Highway Route 61, Rock 'n' Roll Highway 67, The World Famous Route 66, Washington–Rochambeau Revolutionary Route And so many more.
Most of these parallel the Interstate Highway System & in someplace it’s the same, IT'S the fun of Discovery!! Finding that unexpected place, places that take you back to a place and time... As someone has said "WHAT A LONG STRANGE TRIP”... These places are full of interesting People, Places & Things; Who, Whom, What & Where one has been.
IT IS THE JOURNEY, NOT THE DESTINATION!!..
Of course, the Destination is involved, without it, there would be no JOURNEY!!..
While I've had a lifelong interest in photography, I did not pursue it even after I left the Army. Not Until early 2000 did I get more into photography. This was for a few reasons, The main were; it helped me alleviate the stress that came from the Gulf War, also by 2003 I could not be fully employed as Injuries & illness from my services caught up with me.
Since I could no longer work, but could still ride my motorcycle (not sure for how long), I thought for while & thought why not, combine my love for motorcycles & for photography & get out of the house. I needed to get out & do something or become an evil mess of what I used to be & from 2003 I have been out & it has helped keep my sanity & Create some good, bad, & outst&ing photos & videos, & unforgettable friendships. Even if I do not make anything from this I have an OUTLET for the Crap From the War… more to come.
Now for the more, March 20th, 2022. The things from the war are still there, but I’m able to leave that behind for the most part. I've now started writing pros over the last 20 years, I was not ever good at this, it has helped get some of the past out of my head, in a way it’s been cathartic in a way then I did not understand, now I do.
I have not published much of my writings, I do plan to publish them here on my website, soon. I’m still out on the road, not as much as I would like, war issues & things have gotten in the way, BUT This Will Not Stop Me Yet. I have in My Pros, expressed some of my thoughts again to get them out of my being, to set them free and so they do not bother me as much. I am thankful for the road, not the tar, pavement, the dirt, or the concrete; it is who, whom & experience made… always more to Come.
